Work with us
Care for your own community, and be cared for too.
We're building a small team of home carers across Appleby and the Eden Valley. Kindness and reliability matter most. We'll train you for the rest.
The Fellbeck carer's promise
- Paid from door to door.Travel time between visits is paid, and so is every mile.
- Rounds that make sense.Visits grouped close together, near where you live. Less driving, more caring.
- Time to do it properly. No 15-minute personal care calls. Ever.
- The same people, week to week.Get to know the people you visit, and they get to know you.
- Paid training, real progression.Care Certificate, then diplomas and senior roles if you want them.
- Someone always on the end of the phone.Support when you need it, including out of hours.
- A voice that counts.Regular team get-togethers, and your ideas shape how we work.
- Life outside work.Rotas planned in advance, part-time or full-time, and a workplace pension.
Who we're looking for
New to care, or years of experience
Some of the best carers come from shops, farms, hospitality or bringing up a family. If you're kind, patient and reliable, and you'd like work that makes a real difference close to home, we'd like to hear from you.
We're especially keen to hear from people living in and around Appleby, Penrith, Kirkby Stephen, Brough and Shap, because carers who live nearby make short rounds possible.
How to apply
- Send us a short note about yourself, or use the enquiry form and choose "I'd like to work for you". No CV needed.
- We'll call for an informal chat, then invite you to meet us.
- If it's a good fit, we'll make an offer subject to an enhanced DBS check, references and right-to-work checks.
- Paid induction and training, then shadow shifts with an experienced carer before you visit on your own.
We're getting ready to start: we're registering with the Care Quality Commission and lining up our first team now, with conditional offers starting when registration is confirmed.
